Governing Body

Overview

The governing body shall ensure its compliance with the statutes, ordinances, and provisions of the institution’s regulations. The framework of the governance is subjected to these resolutions and shall make all final decisions on matters of fundamental concern to the institution.

Functions of the Governing Body :

  • It evolves the Vision, Mission and Objectives of the College and ensures that they are achieved.
  • Ensures Total Academic and Administrative Autonomy for achieving Short Term and Long Term objectives of the Institution.
  • The Governing Council makes all policy decisions. It guides the institution while fulfilling the objectives for which it has been granted autonomous status.
  • Institute scholarships, fellowships, studentships, medals, prizes and certificates on the recommendations of the Academic Council.
  • It Approves new programmes of study leading to degrees and/or diplomas.
  • All recruitments of Teaching Faculty/Principals will be made by the Governing body.
  • Governing Body/state government as applicable, by the policies laid down by the UGC and State Government from time to time.
  • Approves the annual budget of the institution before submission to UGC.
  • Performs such other functions and formation of institute committees, as may be necessary and deemed fit for the proper development of the institution.
  • It administers the physical resources of the Institute.
  • Reviews the performance of the Institute and guides to function effectively to Achieve Excellence in Academics, Research and Industry collaborations.
  • Ensures the Regulatory Compliance of all the decisions by the concerned Authorities like the Principal, HoD and other Officers of the Institution in all matters of fundamental concern.
  • Ratifies and resolves the minutes of the Academic Council, Board of Studies, Finance Committee and IQAC
  • Reviews to apply Accreditations of different regulatory bodies (NBA, NAAC, UGC & ABET etc.)
  • Monitors the effective functioning of different non-statutory committees of the institution.
  • Encourages and gives guidance for submission of proposals to different funding agencies.
Term of Governing Body :

The Governing Body will be reconstituted every three years except in the case of UGC nominee who shall have a term of five years.

Frequency of Governing Body Meetings :

Meetings of the Governing Body will be held at least twice a year.
